He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, then completed his internship and residency training through several New Orleans hospitals. He served as the orthopedic chief resident at Tulane Medical Center and Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
After completing his residency training, Dr. Geibel entered the Spinal Fellowship program at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, Norton Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, and the Tulane Spine Fellowship back in New Orleans.
Dr. Geibel’s interest in medical education has taken him to positions as clinical instructor and assistant clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has presented various national and international papers dealing with spinal disorders. Dr. Geibel is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Bexar County Medical Society.
